Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced, skilled Forklift Mechanic to to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance and repair of forklifts, scissor lifts and warehouse type equipment. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can diagnose issues and perform repairs on forklifts. As a Forklift Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our rental fleet and shop service on customer equipment. You may also be a road mechanic driving a company van and maintaining tools. Write up job tickets, order parts and fix minor repairs at customer job site.

Responsibilities 

• Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on forklifts, including scissor lifts and pallet jacks.
• Diagnose mechanical issues using OEM specifications and service manuals.
• Assemble and disassemble equipment components as needed for repairs or upgrades and order parts from website on a computer in office.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs to ensure proper functionality of equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of service performed and parts used for each job.
• Collaborate with other technicians to ensure timely completion of repair work.

Qualifications

• Must have:  Proven experience in forklift repair and maintenance.
• Seeking a person with a strong understanding of wiring and electrical components of machines as well as a strong understanding of vehicle systems, including propane, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly.
• Familiarity with OEM parts and specifications is preferred.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with equipment repair.
• Valid driver's license is required.
